All Day I Dream About Sex

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 24 June 2009 11:41 (A review of Life Is Peachy)

The second studio album from Bakersfield's own KORN entitled Life is Peachy. This band originated the "i hate my dad" music we have here and up until their self titled album prior to this, no one knew a band like this could still be around to this day. In my opinion this album is and will be the best to date. it in a single album defines them the best; it shows no stardom to the days where the drummer David is on Calvin Klein billboards, it's just the music in these days. it also had the most good songs throughout on an album; i very rarely have to skip songs if i put the album on.

Whatever you do, don't fall asleep!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 24 June 2009 11:29 (A review of A Nightmare on Elm Street)

It's hard to believe that there are people that haven't seen this movie. There is a man who follows you in your dreams. He kills you because that is the only place he can truly strike fear. Leaving a teenager alive to tell all their friends just makes business go up in Freddy's book; and gives him alot more minds to invade and lives to take. Killed after being burned by the townspeople after being let off for murders of several children, Freddy Kruger now bears a burnt body with the classic red and green shirt and old hat. This idea was first thought up by Director Wes Craven after being scared as a child by a bum with that same resemblance. A great concept that worked and stuck in the minds of it;s viewers, letting them know they are not safe.. even in their homes. That one thing is true, you know.. You have to fall asleep sometime. and When you do, you are all his for the taking! Robert Englund plays the perfect Freddy time after time and did amazing in his debut. He creeped out viewers by cutting off his own finger and controlling damage in dreams and making them stick in real life. Tina, a friend of the main character Nancy's suffers an exquisite death towards the beginning of the film where she is violently dragged across the ceiling by the knife gloved maniac with no one able to see him but her; all they could do is scream. Johnny Depp also makes his film debut in this one, making it the one film i would say gave him the chance for a death scene to never forget. If you haven't seen it, please do! After all, you have to sleep sometime...

Children: One, two, Freddy's coming for you. / Three, four, better lock your door. / Five, six, grab your crucifix. / Seven, eight, better stay awake. / Nine, ten, never sleep again.

Steer Clear of the Witch!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 24 June 2009 11:09 (A review of Left 4 Dead)

I'm not one to play video games as crazy as this, but i am into watching my band mates play this game and i have had well over 100 hours time watching the destruction both on their side and the zombies and i have to say this is the best game i have seen in a long time. Choosing not only how to survive, but how to either help your team mates (npc's) or use their death to your advantage and survive and go on; this game not only challenges the mind but gives the eyes a treat equivalent to your favorite dessert.. whatever that may be. the whole network of actually being the smokers and boomers in someone else's game makes the challenge that much more difficult because unlike other games where computerized threats come your way, people from wherever are hunting you down with attacks such as close claws and distance such as pulling you to them and ripping you to shreds or heaving large rocks directly at you. Seeing the faces on people when they get lucky enough to become the tank on xbox live and they take all four members out of a campaign is priceless; like a L4D right to passage. good going L4D getting game of the year, Can't wait to see footage from L4D2!!

Hideous... hungry... and loose!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 24 June 2009 10:58 (A review of Castle Freak)

the 1995 movie from co-writer/director Stuart Gordon about a family being left a castle in the father John Reilly's aunt's will; only to find another guest already living there. Starring Jeffery Combs as the main character John who becomes obsessed with the missing member of his family and the demise of his marriage due to a drunken crash killing their son and blinding their daughter. trying to cope with the loss but always reminded by it when seeing his daughter or even talking to his wife; she never lets it down until the family's life is in danger at the hands of the castle freak! Not much gore and/or violence occurs in the film until the second half of it, but overall isn't that bad of a film building up to all of it. The castle freak himself inst seen until the end half too, until then he covered himself with some sort of bed sheet; until he found out the daughter Rebecca was blind, and looks didn't matter to her one bit.. so off with the sheet as he presented the face and body of a neglected son due to spite for the father who left John's aunt all those years ago. Seeing movies for the first time have their ways of going alot quicker than once you've seen it and know what happens and when it gets good. for a first time watcher, i knew to expect something good even if it took a long time. Gordon's got quite a list of great horror flicks such as Re-animator, Form Beyond and Dolls so i knew this was either another good one to that list or just his one flop. I considered it a keeper, not as good as the other films mentioned but how can you step up from any of those films?

John Reilly: I didn't kill her, I fucked her, Okay?

Best Album to Date!!!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 23 June 2009 08:23 (A review of Containment/Quarantine)

Just arriving from production is the third and long awaited album put out from New York's own Warfear. 16 tracks total for another Album to listen to straight through with a little bit of something for everybody. Some politics here, zombie takeovers there, all around good sound to it with an awesome new lineup; set to record this well over a year ago, now standing strong with this release under their bondage belts.... and for the first time in over two years: some shows on the horizon. Stay Dead.

Screaming aloud, and writhing in pain
Curious to find out the taste of a brain
Circulation stops, as well as the heart
Dead from alive... so hard to tell apart.

Whose baby is this?

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 19 June 2009 06:39 (A review of The Hangover)

From what it seems, word of mouth is traveling and making this film actually grow in viewers since it's opening a couple of weeks ago; bringing it from the number two film in America to the number one as of last week. The past couple of years have shown quite a few comedies, outnumbering any other genre; but this movie is one of the few that had not only me but every single person I have talked to about it laughing throughout. Taken to Las Vegas for a bachelor party by his two best friends as well as his new brother in law is Doug Billings. Some drinks and a salute on the rooftop of their hotel were the start of their evening, everything else was a drug induced binge of senseless violence and randomness. When all men wake up, they find not only is their room a mess, but a few other things; including a lost tooth, a tiger in the bathroom, and their friend the groom to be missing. The adventure begins to find Doug and get him back to the wedding on time in one piece. I don't remember going five or ten minutes without laughing during this movie. The one flaw i think this movie has is too happy of an ending, and the pieces get put back together wayyy to smoothly for the kind of night they had before. Either way, one film this year worth your money.

Doug Billings: Either way, you gotta be super smart to count cards, buddy, okay?
Alan Garner: Oh really?
Doug Billings: It's not easy.
Alan Garner: Okay, well maybe we should tell that to Rain Man, because he practically bankrupted a casino, and he was a ruh-tard.
Stu Price: A what?
Alan Garner: He was a ruh-tard.
Doug Billings: [pauses to figure out what Alan was saying] *RE*tard.

The Rebellion Against All There is!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 17 June 2009 07:42 (A review of Hell Ride)

Looking around through the channels of my television for something to fall asleep to; Man i fucked up. This movie happened to just be starting and i heard good things about it, so i figured it'd be good to turn down and pass out to. Didn't nearly happen like that. The cast of credits after the introduction sat me up and had me watching for more, with quite the amount of ruthlessness I needed after a shitty day at work. Though he didn't direct it, there was quite a bit of Tarantino time tables in it, flashing from past to present in the blink of an eye. There was some confusion from the get go in my opinion between the rivalry. Wasn't totally sure who was on who's side with all the backstabbing and double crossing going on; but none the less, had a good time watching the carnage of every menace unfold.

Girl: Hey, what do those white wings mean?
Billy Wings: They're for licking virgin pussy. Red wings for licking a bleeding pussy. See that? Blue and yellow wings for licking a police woman. Green wings for licking a pussy with crabs. Purple wings... They're for licking a dead pussy... See that? Pill popping, cunt eating, dope smoking, mother fucker. But you know... in a good way.

Vinny...VINNY! You got a Joint?

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 16 June 2009 06:16 (A review of The Last Horror Film)

Fuckin awesome movie. The Maniac himself Joe Spinell stars in this as a crazed wanna be movie director who travels all the way to the Cannes Film Festival to attempt to get his script approved and his dream of a movie put into motion. Stuck in a job that doesn't make him happy (been there!) Taxi cab driver Vinny Durand takes his obsession of film star Jana Bates to a another level when he up and travels to the international film festival to track her down and get his script approved. Never occurring to him that she might say no, let alone be completely scared of a man doing whatever it takes to have her star in his film. Throughout the festival, murders of members close to Jana begin disappearing; with their bodies showing up shortly after. Some think it's a publicity stunt just to push the horror genre and Bates Ex husband's career up a bit, but Ms. Bates saw her ex's body; or at least she think she did. Spinell's Character is similar to the Maniac in Lustig's Film from 1980; but the difference of plots and character backgrounds presents this as an entirely new movie. Spinell's own mother plays the role as mom, one of the cutest old ladies in an 80's film that i am aware of. Great film to see and enjoy throughout; with not too much guessing of what is happening and the obvious turns out to make a complete turn in the other direction. Recently re-released onto DVD from Troma entertainment, one of my best buys of a movie at any horror convention.

Jana Bates: I've seen enough fake blood to know the real thing when I see it.

The Rest... Was Like Writing a Book.. a Book!

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 30 May 2009 08:09 (A review of Tenebre)

Filmed in 1982 about an American Writer who tours Rome to promote his new book "Tenebre" when a vicious killer links his murders to the writer; as if some sick kind of influence. Taking the murder mystery to next level as he always does, Director Dario Argento Brings back the "Point of View" murders with those two Black gloves everybody loves to see take life. A few twists and turns around Writer Peter Neal's personal life get thrown into play as he spots his ex wife (a New York Resident) in the streets of Italy from time to time; swearing it's her. Giving the viewer that "out for revenge" idea that she might be the person responsible for the murders to tarnish Neal's career. More important than the guesses of who is responsible is the actual murders themselves. Pages from the book get stuffed into victim's mouths, arms get chopped off in an ultraviolent manner with maximum blood projection, and all kinds of other shit that make you're eyes stay on the screen. To be around when this premiered in theaters and to catch a glimpse of viewers leaving in disgust would be a definite to do on my list if i could go back in time. And of course, the ultimate twist to the movie leaves you saying "Ahhh, I get it; the crazy bastard." Enjoy! this movie recently got put onto DVD in a large number, making it a good choice to actually own; guaranteeing you'll watch this one more than once. One of Argento's BEST!!!

Peter Neal: I've been charged, I've tried building a plot the same way you have. I've tried to figure it out; but, I just have this hunch that something is missing, a tiny piece of the jigsaw. Somebody who should be dead is alive, or somebody who should be alive is already dead.
Detective Germani: Explain that.
Peter Neal: You know, there's a sentence in a Conan Doyle book, "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

GIGANTOR!!

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 30 May 2009 07:47 (A review of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian)

All your favorite characters are back, and this time, facing a new unspeakable evil as the source of the exhibits lives becomes the key to an army of the undead from the Egyptian Kamunrah; putting him in charge of them. Many new faces appear in this film, as Larry Daley comes back from his small business success to save his friends who are being shipped to storage underneath the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. Out with the old, in with the new is not going to fly for the entrepreneur who puts back on the night guard costume and arms himself with the flashlight for another battle, this time to control the tablet's power for good, not evil. Kamunrah doesn't go quietly and has the help from a few of the most sinister exhibits to achieve his goal of world domination. The new characters are a treat and as Daley walks through the Smithsonian you can just tell the life of the exhibits he passes are going to be quite entertaining. Everything from a giant Squid to Oscar the grouch to his sidekick on this journey; Amelia Earhart. There are some scenes that actually put a friend of mine to sleep during the movie, some unnecessary scenes between Daley and Earhart that drag on; but noting that it can't be a complete trip of action and special effects sank into my mind and i accepted them for what they were. Seeing the first one would help you follow the story better, but is not required to have a good time while watching this movie.

General George Armstrong Custer: Any questions
[Sacajawea raises her hand]
General George Armstrong Custer: [Mumbles her name]
Sacajawea: That is not my name.
General George Armstrong Custer: Sacajamea?
Sacajawea: No.
General George Armstrong Custer: Sac, Sack-in-a-box?
Sacajawea: No.
General George Armstrong Custer: Cinco De Mayo. Mission Accomplished
